I am the oldest son of Nhia Blia Xiong and Ying Yang. I was born in the village of Phou Xao, Xieng Khoung, Laos. A month after my birth, we were forced by the Laotian Civil War to relocate to Moung Cha and then to Nam Fan where we lived until 1978 when we left for Thailand. In 1979, my parents took us to the United States. I have four brothers and three sisters. MORE LATER.
If you need someone to talk about Hmong history, I can help you. I do have a broad knowledge on the history of the Hmong in Southeast Asia. My master thesis is about the role and motivation of the Hmong in Laos during French colonialism and US Secret War. Since 1993, I've shifted my study and research from Southeast Asia to China. I strongly believe that in order to know Hmong history, I have to know Chinese history. Hmong ancient history in China, especially during Ming and Qing Dynasties, is my passion and research area. I've travelled extensively to China, Laos and Thailand for both business and research. I've produced half a dozen video documentaries on the Hmong in China and Southeast Asia.
